Director of Advanced Manufacturing
Ivy Tech Community College

Job Summary
Ivy Tech Community College – North Central is currently searching for a Director of Advanced Manufacturing.  This position will direct operations and functions of advanced manufacturing which include credit and non-credit offerings, related enrollment management, program administration, and human resource management, ensuring coordination with academic and non-academic departments within the Orthopedic Advanced Manufacturing Training Center.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement quality assurance techniques and procedures in the delivery of
certificate programs in orthopedic advanced manufacturing and academic programs, meeting the instructional goals of the College. 
        
· Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, and any other relevant standards. 
· Provide a leadership role as liaison with community, development and continuation of
Advisory Board, and related industry activities. 
· Support student recruitment for orthopedic advanced manufacturing certificates and
academic programs. 
· Recruit and help oversee the selection, within college and regional policy requirements, of faculty members appropriately qualified to instruct orthopedic advanced manufacturing certificates and help to provide appropriate opportunities for their professional development. 
· Institute guidelines and procedures designed to achieve and maintain quality of instruction in the orthopedic advanced manufacturing certificate and academic programs, including appropriate learning outcomes for their students. 
· Establish protocol that will promote effective functioning of the assigned advanced manufacturing center's staff and facilities. 
· Maintain effective and fiscally sound management of the financial resources needed to carry out the mission of the advanced manufacturing center.
· Produce annual reports that measure and evaluate program results and show action to
correct deficiencies. 
· Conduct routine audits of material, tools, and equipment to meet recognized industry
standards. 
· The Director of Advanced Manufacturing is also required to attend and participate in convocation and commencement ceremonies; serve on assigned committees and task forces; and attendance and participation at community, staff, informational and professional meetings.
· These along with other responsibilities may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in a field closely related to manufacturing together with five-eight years of related advanced manufacturing experience; or Bachelor's Degree in a field closely related to manufacturing
together with ten-twelve years of related advanced manufacturing experience.

The successful candidate should have a background in advanced manufacturing; be able to utilize a media-rich classroom and manufacturing laboratory; demonstrate effective teaching techniques to address the needs of a diverse student body with an array of learning styles. The candidate should also demonstrate excellent technical, communication and interpersonal skills; exercise good judgment and tact conducive to a collegial environment; demonstrate effective participation and success in creative and collaborative group projects; and use word processing software, the Internet,
and e-mail.
